Dear friends,
Crisis in Nepal: the key organization standing up for LGBT people is in danger of being shut down.
A local official is stopping Blue Diamond Society from looking after people with HIV, and it looks like it’s simply because he hates LGBT people.
But Nepal just got a new Prime Minister and he’s hosting an international meeting about human rights in 3 days time.
If thousands of us sign the petition now, it will threaten to embarrass the Prime Minister at his high-profile meeting. It could be enough to get him to act fast to save Blue Diamond Society.
Can you sign the petition?

Blue Diamond is a shining example for LGBT rights across Asia. They’ve set the standard of achievement, and they are the reason the United Nations is hosting their regional human rights meeting in NepalBut Kathmandu’s Chief District Officer is withholding a report that Blue Diamond needs to be renew its license to operate in Nepal. That means major international organisations aren’t able to send funds. And it gets worse – it looks like the Chief District Officer has ordered a police crackdown against some members of Blue Diamond Society.

Nepal’s new Prime Minister has just come into power. On Friday, his government will host a major United Nations regional seminar on LGBT rights. They will want to show the world they care about looking after LGBT people – so it’s the perfect moment to deliver a huge petition calling for the Prime Minister to save Blue Diamond Society.
Blue Diamond Society has provided vital services to LGBT people in Nepal for 12 years – and had its licence renewed 12 times. It even won an award from the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission. The death of the organisation would be a devastating setback for Nepal’s LGBT community.
Together, we can save Blue Diamond Society:
